what is best for removing stains from the carpet?

before we moved in are new house it belonged to a bunch of college kids, the carpets look so bad, but we dont have the money to replace them any help would be great. thanks

  • We use the OxiClean spray, let it soak a minute or so, and scrub. It hasn't failed us yet! Good luck!! You might also try renting a carpet cleaner (costs about $20) from a grocery store and cleaning your carpets, that could help, too.

  • Club soda, or hire a professional (they're not too expensive, like, $20/room, give or take, and they also have specials). You could use a carpet cleaner that they sell in stores and rent a carpet shampooer, but those things are inferior, and the stains will come back.

    Whatever you do, no matter what anyone says, DO NOT use dish soap. My hubby used to be a professional carpet guy...
