Is your baby obsessed with mommy?

DH hates how obsessed DS is with me. DS doesn't like sleeping in his crib because I am not in the room when he wakes up. He is more fussy when DH gets up with him at night, and if DH tries to let me sleep in some mornings, DS is really loud. Normally once his morning bottle is done and he has a fresh diaper he is content to just roll around the living room and is quiet. Not when DH is up with him though, he makes it so mommy gives up on sleep and just comes out to play with him.

Yes, I have a momma's boy.

  • Mine's no baby anymore, but she's still a mommy's girl. I call myself her favorite toy. It bugs her daddy sometimes, and I've tried to step out of some routines like bathtime and bedtime, and even let her play Angry Birds on the computer with him, so they can build memories together. But in spite of our supposedly equal society, women still do the great majority of child-raising tasks. Babies are more used to hanging out with moms, and that's who they want.

  • My oldest was like that. She was a very needy baby. She constantly had to be held. She even took all her naps in my arms. I'd just get comfy in the recliner and read a book or watch tv while she slept. I learned to do almost everything while holding her or having her in a snuggli.

Thankfully my youngest was/she sometimes is, the easiest baby in the world.

  • All 3 of our boys wanted me until I stopped nursing them at 12 months.... Then they didn't care where I was unless they were sick, hurt, needed changing, or just having a cranky day... My ex never did anything for them anyway, so it didn't matter.. They are 8, 9 and 15 yrs and very independent for their ages.

  • DH feeds our 10 month old his dinner and bottle every night then rocks him to sleep. I have to leave the room while DH is rocking him because if DS sees me, he will sit-up and cry for me.

  • My sons were that way as babies but once they could walk, they became daddy's boys! Daddy was more fun and active so I was good for sick days, quiet times, stories etc but otherwise it was all daddy!!! Then as they got to be school aged it evened out. Through grade school it was pretty even on who they wanted, and thru the teen years they were closer to me. I think dads and teen sons have a hard time communicating....

  • Ballad, our daughter was like that with me until about a year. She still prefers me if she is hurt or upset, but if not she is all about daddy. Apparently daddy is more fun. However our son is all about me, my friend's can't even hold him unless I am in his line of sight, and sometimes he will still cry until they hand him back to me, and then he is all smiles.
