A few days ago, my horse, my 4yo daughter, and I took a tumble into the creek and I have messed up my back and knee and shoulder and scraped my forehead. My child, thank God, was uninjured, as was my horse. The Doctor wants me to take it easy and stay in bed but I am going crazy. My mother has been here to help out with me and my eight month old. The child, who was in the accident, was uninjured and perfectly able to go to school. My eight month old has been hanging out on the bed with me and she doesn't understand why mommy can't get up and play with her but for a child that, since she started scooting, wants to be down and into things, she has barely left the bed. My mother brought her some toys so that she could sit on the bed and takes her to feed, change, and hold her a minute but then she wants mommy again. My shoulder is in a sling and she was poking it. I told her "Easy baby, mamma's shoulder hurts." She poked out her lip and said "Oh, Mama hurts? Oh my Mama hurts" and kissed my shoulder and said "Mama better!" She's such a little cutie!
My husband has been really good about helping me when he is not at work. Frankly, I hate not being able to work and I hate not being able to do things for my family but what choice do I have? If I am stubborn and do it anyway, I will only injure myself more. I have made that mistake in the past. I was able to sit in the recliner today when I got back from the doctor but I've mostly been in the bed, watching cartoons with my kids.
