If you are big breasted and breastfeed, without nursing undergarments...

you MUST tell me your secret! I cant find my size except online, and they are either REALLY cheap material or REALLY expensive. I bought me a bra at jcp today, but just a regular bra, not a nursing bra. All jcp had in stock were sleeping bras which basically just cover you up. I was wondering if it will still be easy for me to nurse my baby in a regular bra? or am I limited to nursing bras/tanks because of my size (40dd)?

  • I'm a 40 Dodd so I feel your pain lol. I found pretty decent ones at Walmart. They were about $15 and they worked well. They always have my size too which is nice and they are the typical nursing bras that have the clip so you can detach the cup portion and fold it down. I personally found regular bras very uncomfortable with nursing because the strap kept the cup part high up so even with it folded down it would push up against the breast. These bras were a lifesaver for me.

  • I'd try Walmart, Sears, I rarely used mine only in the very beginning.

  • Walmart carries this style in 40DD. You just pull the breast out of the top, nurse, replace. They are really good too. I almost never use the straps. I really can't justify the cost of a nursng bra when I can get something like this for under $20.

  • I wore sports bras (not tight ones) for at home, they were nicer than the couple of nursing bras I was able to find in my size (nursing size was something like 40F - I was huge!). I kept my nursing bras for the rare occasion we went out and I didn't want the sports bra uniboob. And really, they weren't true sports bras - more like a cropped tank top that had elastic at the bottom. I got them at Wal-Mart.

  • I wear a DD and I got nursing bras at Belk's and Motherhood Maternity. I don't remember how much they were, but not much more than $20. I couldn't have gotten through without my nursing bras! I guess you could use a regular soft cup bra, but I wouldn't have been comfortable with it.

  • I have a G cup. The ONLY place I could find something in my size was Macy's Online. It wasn't badly priced either - about $30.

  • I started with nursing bras until my supply was well established. Then I went with my regular Victorias Secret bras because they offered the best support and were the most comfortable!

  • The hospital that I gave birth in had a store right outside of labor and delivery that sold specifics for babies and mothers. Thats where I got my nursing bras after my son was born. The were super comfy without the underwire and gave great support. I was only a 38 - 40 dd after he was born. With my daughter I was a 40 f and I bought my bras at Motherhood. I know that Target and Sears both sell maternity clothes but I'm not sure what their bra range goes up to
