I have 3 boys ... 4yrs, 8 & 8.
I have done all i can think of, from taking privileges away, times outs, sending to their roooms to think of what they have done wrong and expect them to come out and apologize & hope they never act like that again. and so on. i dont spank them.
unfortunately all i do doesnt work, doesnt seem to matter to them anymore, they have gotten more disrespectful. 4yr old he is still little and doesnt act like that.
but older ones have begun been disrespectful alot with me, for while, but now it has gotten worse.
am to the point i dont know what to do, today oldest one yelled at me in front of public at store after i asked him to get his hands off the groceries bcse the person who was trying to bag them couldnt since his hands were on the way, and he yelled at me, making all eyes turn on us. send him to his room to think hard of what he did, expected him to come out and apologize to me but he didnt, instead of hearing a Am Sorry he said he wouldnt touch groceries again, but he has done this before, putting his hands on the way at grocery store on purpose, and raising his voice at me alot when we are at home or in the car, but not in public, this was first time.
Then mins later at home, my other son same age 7yrs, did the same thing, i asked him to pick all the mess he had made on living room so i could vacuum befre it was too late, he didnt listen to me, i repeteaded myself several times before he started cleaning but then he started playing, when i asked to stop and clean up again he ignore me and started walking away bouncing the ball around house, i grab his hands to make him look at me, make sure he knew i was been serious and instead he started screaming and yelling at me "am cleaning". i told him not to raise his voice at me like that, and it got worse he started forcing a cry and screaming louder, 4yr old started covering his ears and was upset i told 8yr old to go his room n calm down, come out when he was done with his tantrum but didnt listen, i grabbed him and try to put his on his room and instead he started fighting me. he was screaming at me so loud, like i was hurting him, and he was still trying to force a cry (he always tries to do that when he doesnt get his way, dsnt want to do something, listen , etc) he as well still ahsnt apologized for his behavior.
i talked to them, grounded them from tx, xbox. they werent happy but they still didnt apologize and acted like "whatever" i feel like am dealing with 14yr old sometimes.
am to edge of i dont know what to do anymore, am crying my eyes out bcse its not easy, i dont even feel good these days because am over stressed with school and my back has been hurting alot. i have talked to my fiance but he knows how thye get raise their voices but he rarely tells them not to be disrespectful like that. they literally raised their voices at me over having them clean their room, toys, mess they make.
i need an advice on what else i can do in this situation?

My kids are adults now. so the way I would deal with this issue is different then you younger moms would do. My kids knew not to ever raise their voices at me,disrespect me.
Spankings worked for me. A good pop up side the back of the head works too. Not giving in to their every whim works great. After a while I just had to look at them and they would stop doing what they where doing.
Parents are affraid tto do that stuff to their kids now days.

Kids this age sense your stress whatever it might be, they know who they can be disrespectful to and get a way with it.you need to set him aside and talk to him, explain to him how stress you are and how he needs to do his part by helping pick up himself, delegate some responsibility and reward if need be, but whatever you do when taking away don't give in until your punishment has ended, put a time frame and stick to it. Take away priviledges for misconduct, and stick to it till the end...etc..
