Socialized Medicine?

Someone posted a question about it, then it was deleted. There were some articles I was reading before the question was deleted. Does anyone know how I can find those articles?
Or who has opinions of Socialized Medicine?

  • You have never been on medicaid have you Anon? OMG! If the whole country was on it it would be AWFUL. You have to make appts months in advance. Your choice of Drs is VERY limited and most of the time people don't get back in touch with you till days later. My parents are military and they have to use the same dr's as medicaid and they HATE it! My mom has been waiting 3 days for a call back because they forgot to refill her diabetes medication! They need to do something about the amount of money these pharmaceutical companies charge and about ins companies.....how about some regulations THERE! NOT socilized medicine!!

  • Go to your local VA hospital and interview a retiree or vet being cared for. That's all you'll need to hear.

  • Yeah, where did that earlier thread go? There was one asking Canadians how they feel about their health care that I answered earlier.
I'm Canadian, we have socialized health care, and I love it. There is no 'red tape'- if I need a doctor, I go, show my OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Program) card and that is the end of it. I don't make appts months in advance, I have not had a hard time getting into a specialist, and no one in my family has had an ureasonable wait time for surgery. My mom got in for a biopsy within two weeks last fall, my 80 year old grandfather only had a two week wait for bypass surgery. Our system is not an inclusive as some in Europe in that it does not cover drugs for most people, meaning I still have private insurance for drugs, and man do I hate dealing with my insurance! I can't imagine going through that every time I needed to see a doctor! I love our system- no complaints here!

  • Yes and forget looking to Canada their healthcare is nowhere near perfect and you have to consider that here in America there are ALOT more people.

Also you can find some candians to say oh its great and still some who say its lousey.

Taxes out of this world of course too.
