Do you have to loose your mucus plug before you dilate?

  • well actually everyone does lose their mucus plug its just that they might not notice it- it could happen when ur in labor and when ur water breaks- but it usually happens while ur dilating- not before

  • You can lose the plug an not notice or it could come out in undetectable little chunks or regenerate...
    It can stay attached until birth, so obviously fully dilated.

  • No you dont have to lose it before you dialate. I was dialated for 3 cm for about 3weeks and did not lose it. But like doulala said it can stay attached until birth. so some ppl really dont even lose it before then

  • i lost my plug at 2 centameters then my water broke not to many days after that
