Unused baby name... current thoughts?

When I was pregnant with my first, he would have been named Melanie Cyan had he been a girl. With my second, he would have been Elizabeth Cyan.

I still love the name Elizabeth, but I'm grateful now my oldest wound up being a Nicholas, and not a Melanie. I just don't care for that name anymore.

What about you?

  • I always wanted to use Cooper for a boy. With my last son, I kind of forgot about that name. Now we are done. Oh well, I'm happy with what we have - Tyler, Molly and Riley. I like Cyan as a middle name.

  • We didn't have unused names. It took us forever to decide on Sophie for our daughter (I still really like Annabelle, but DH doesn't). We knew our first boy would be Bret. We have also discussed that our third (and probably our last) will be probably be Abigail for a girl or maybe Lucas for a boy.

  • I look back through my son's baby books and for each and every one they would have been Bella if they were a girl. So that's almost 16 yrs of waiting for a Bella that I never got. If I had a daughter right now she would be Bella.

  • My ex husband just automatically assumed by oldest DD was a boy (his family didn't seem to produce girls at the time). So, we already had her "boy name" picked prior to the gender scan. She was set to be Wyatt Alexander. I still like Alexander as a MN but, Wyatt's really popular here in TX, it wasn't in NY 6 yrs ago. So, I'm glad she was a girl.

  • I feel neutral about Melanie, not my style but not because I don't like it.

DH and I didn't get to use our boy names, our favorite is Gideon. Wouldn't cahnge my girls for anything, and we're done, but a part of me sometimes misses the prospect of raising a boy

  • We had Braxten and Meika picked out for our first. We got our Braxten. For our second, we had Keegan and Meika picked. We got our Meika. :) Looking back, I don't really like Keegan. Its nice, but eh. Its not "THE" name. We are now expecting our 3rd, and I can't, for the life of me, pick a name :/

  • Our first dd was easy she is Skylar Renee, then our second dd was to be named Avery Rome, he is now named Hunter Ray, then we were gonna keep Avery Rome, but our third is a boy Braxton Remington. If there ever is another baby and its a girl it will be Avery Rome
