My childhood friend and i reconnected through classmates, and later facebook, after more than 40 years of no communication. I remember her and picture her as she was when we were 6ish, but I have no specific memories of our friendship. She on the other hand can tell me exact details of many things we did as children..amazing.

nope, and I just call my new friend of 10 yrs. just a good friend because we had not done as much together as my the one i used to call best friend. It's crazy because me the one that was best friends was friends since childhood, and when she finally settled down with this asshole she wasn't allowed to be around ,and he choose her new friend and bff, well the new bff is dead and so is their marriage because he was nuts and now we grew apart and we talk every now and again, it hurts but i doubt if we'll every be as tight as we were, and another thing the new bff that she had before she died had the same name as me and the same zodiac sign as me and bday within a few days as me, I still few bad for all of our children because we were there together and seen all of our children being brought into this world, and then a sudden split, we wanted them to be close too

Yep! Even though we live in different countries we are still best friends. We keep in touch via email, instant message, facebook, phone, and 'snail mail'.

Yep. We've been best friends for 34 years, ever since we were 14.

I'll be seeing her next week because we are both heading home for a visit. Our parents still live just down the street from each other.
