Have you ever almost died? What happened? How old were you?

I was 4
I was feeling sick just before school,and threw up a shitload of black blood,then passed out cold
I had a peptic ulcer that had perforated
I lost 3/4 of my blood volume.
I awoke a day and a half later. They were able to stop the bleeding without surgery. I spent 2 months in the hospital

i had a seizure while taking a bath and almost drown..my sister heard the water and came in and saw me under and pulled me out and called 911. i was 18

I nearly drowned at 12 when we floated down a river on rafts.

Several times. But, like Dardenella, not really up for going there.

We were in puerto Rico visiting family and we went to the beach. My dh was scaring me about sharks and was a good ten feet away from me. Well I got sucked into an undertow and my dh thought I was pretending a shark got me. I was seriously in shock because I didn't understand what was happening lol well I finally got up long enough to scream help asshole. And didn't comeback up. I was thinking well I'm ganna die as my oldest one at the time was on the beach with her grandmother. All of a sudden I felt a hand grab me and pull me out. My dh saved me after throwing up and chocking for a while I was okay and I haven't been in water past my ankles for 6 years.

I have been surfing since I was 6, and have had to be brought back with CPR 4 times, defibrillated twice. Firat time was at 7, last time was at 15 surfing bonzai pipeline in Hawaii.
The first time I got disoriented, my leash to my board broke, and I couldnt figure out which way was up. Woke up on the beach, my older brother crying (he was out there with me and thought it was his fault), my mom freaking out, and my dad just standing over me. I vividly remember the first breathe I took, it hurt so bad. And all I wanted to do was get my board and go back in.
Drowning has never scared me. Its quite peaceful.
