Mesh underwear

If someone were to object to the mesh underwear they give you after you give birth, and had brought their own regular underwear from home.... like plain black full coverage underwear.... would that be an option? Or do the nurses force you to wear mesh hospital underwear?

Or honestly, after giving birth, do you just not give a shit at all about it?

  • I think at the time you won't care,, you bleed quite a bit, I remember this kind of huge diaper pad kind of thing,, and was thankful for the meshy throw away panties.

  • You really don't care, and they really don't care. Wear what you want, but the blood thing is huge. I would never wear anything I wanted to wear more than one time immediately after giving birth. Blood usually goes EVERYWHERE.

  • After having both babies I didn't care if I was wearing underwear at all for the first few hours. You have those big pad things that you bleed all over. I wore the mesh throw away undies because they were stretchy enough to accommodate those huge diaper things to soak up the blood. Normal panties wouldn't have held those things.

  • There is a lot of of blood and since I had c-sections with all mine, the hospital issued mesh was just fine because it held the big pad in place and did not rub against the incision. They held the dressing in place.

  • I used my own that I had bought for the sole purpose of using after birth. I did not want to put something on my bottom that had been on someone elses and not one nurse had an issue. Just be aware that they will likely be ruined and you won't be able to wear them again.

  • I was happy to have the disposable mesh ones. They were stretchy and I didn't have to worry about ruining my own.

  • I've never heard of anyone being forced to wear the disposable ones they give you. I was happy to have them rather than ruin my own.

  • The mesh panties are not reusable - no one else wore them before you, don't know where that anon got that info. I was offered them after my first, and used them because I sat on ice packs for 3 days. With the rest I brought my own and was never even offered the mesh ones. I like the idea of them because there is a good chance of staining, but that's why I brought grannies that I didn't mind throwing away!

  • They are NOT reusable.

BTW don't you want to look sexy in those mesh panties they give you? LOL

It was a running joke between a friend of mine after we both had our kids. There really isn't anything wrong with them. I actually found them semi comfortable.
