Does anyone else hate the term "fetus"? Why can't we just say baby? Or unborn child?

Fetus to me just seems like a way to make abortion seem like you are killing a thing and not a baby.

  • because medically there its a point to where the baby is not a baby yet it is a fetus and if i remember right that is the first 12 weeks it might be less but yes i do hate when people continue to use that term my baby has been a baby since i found out i was pregnant

  • because it doesnt have rights. a pregnant lady got pulled over for driving in the car pool lane and took it to court and the judge was like 'thats not a person. pay your fine'

WTF does that have to do with any of this. Lots of stupid people go to court to fight traffic tickets. Can you even prove this story is true? Even if it is does that one judge set the guidelines to who is a human and who isn't?

  • Yes it bothers me when people refer to babies as "it" or a "fetus" I agree it is probably a medical term dr's use to make it seem like a pregnant woman isn't carrying a living baby (no matter how small) but more of a thing.

  • "maybe it says in the law somewhere"

Exactly. So the government has the say so in who is human and who isn't? That is not a government I want. So the government decided that you are not human while in your mother's womb, therefore it is okay to kill you.

  • A fetus is the medical term for an unborn baby in the womb.

"So the government decided that you are not human while in your mother's womb, therefore it is okay to kill you."

That pretty much sums it up :] God bless America!

  • Who's right is it to terminate another's life?? Good question! how could we call a baby a baby, then kill it? that would be what modern society calls murder! So instead let us call it a fetus so we don't feel responsible for deciding a human has no right to live.

  • You can, if you aren't a scientist.
