Have you ever served as a juror?

I have jury duty tomorrow, not the first time I've been called to do my Civic Duty, I've just never been chosen.
Have you? If so, did you enjoy the experience?

  • I was supposed to, and my son got stung by a scorpion the night before. I spent the next two days at the hospital with him, and had to fax a letter from the hospital explaining why I couldn't serve. It took about a month, but I got a letter saying I had been excused.

  • Yes, he was 5 at the time and it looked like he was having a two day long seizure. He couldn't walk, couldn't control his arms or legs, had rapid, involuntary eye movement, was hallucinating, and seeing double. Scary!
    Good luck Monday.

  • Nope, I called by SD once when we were in CA (clearly didn't have to show), and I got called twice in CA, but once was the week of my due date, so I filed an extension, the second was right after he was born, so I also got an extension.... I am sure I will get one in the mail one day while here and I will be excused yet again.

  • I'll have to go in April. Just got excused because of baby.
I'll have to mark 14 days off of my calendar...

  • Nope. The one time I was able to go (because work paid for it) I was finally questioned by the judge and the two attorneys and they didn't want me because I have law enforcement in my family and they didn't feel I could be impartial because a police officer was going to testify.

  • Was called but the defense did not like my degree in criminal justice so I was dismissed. The retired state trooper, who was also dismissed, told me that it was really unlikely that I would ever sit.
