Do you ever just nod your head at your DH or SO

When he's telling a story and you're clearly not interested. LOL, I'm doing that now and every so often I give him eye contact, smile and nod. I have NO clue what he's talking about but he's enjoying his conversation, lol

  • omg..yes. last night (?) he was watching something called 'Bloody Sunday'...and i made the mistake of asking one question..one innocent just-to-sound-interested question...he 'regaled' me for 20mins about the history of this event, and then some. all the time, i was thinking, ''damn, just shut up and i'll watch the movie with you. ''

  • Yes- my eyes glaze over.
Especially when he tells me a story from his way past and gets hung up on someone's name- and the story takes a strange new turn as he recounts everything he know about the person...
Several times I have considered saying, "Oh, I remember this story".

  • Yes, absolutely! However, I hate it when he does it to me. There is a language barrier there, of course, so I know he doesn't understand, but he's NOT trying to either.... Argh.........

  • Occasionally, but I tend to do it more with my oldest son. He is obnoxiously smart and a science geek. And he will go on and on about some engineering or space thing and it's like "blah, blah, blah, science term, blah, blah, blah." My eyes glaze over and then he starts to tease me.
