How do I fight static while drying my clothes?

I use the dryer year round and I can't seem to fight static, I hate it and it drives me crazy! I use dryer sheets but they don't seem to do anything nor does laundry softner. Does any one have any ideas or things that work?

  • A ball of alumiuum foil won't hurt my dryer any? Thanks for the info on fleece, that does seem to be the worse. My poor son who is 13 months has only fleece jammies and I get multiple shocks just by picking him up.

  • Try tossing in some dryer balls, tennis balls, or balls of aluminum foil. NEVER dry anything fleece in your dryer as they are a static magnet.

  • Nope the foil wont hurt. Poor kid, hang them to dry, they only take an hour or so to hang dry.
