What's the difference between size 4T and size 4?

I'm starting to get DD her fall/winter clothes and I was wondering if there is a difference. DD is tall and skinny so I always have problems with pants. They're either too short or too big in the waist.

  • My Son just went from 4T to size 4. Size 4 is longer in the leg. I also buy him adjustable waist since he is a skinny little guy.

  • I was told that a toddler size is made to fit over the top of a diaper, whereas, a regular is not.... just undies.

  • Buy pants with the adjustable waists. They are a lifesaver! My son has the same problem and with the adjustable waist, you can take in the waist so they fit.

  • [size]T are meant for kids like my son. At two years old he was wearing 4-5T. The toddlers sizes are meant to fit over diapers.

Almost all pants and shorts nowadays come with the elastic in the waistband to help the clothes fit properly. It's a HUGE lifesaver.

  • Ok cool so a 4 would be little smaller in the bottom area? The adjustable waist sounds like a good idea lol, thanks :)
