Is your look age appropriate? Is there a age limit on clothing items? PIOG *** edit** (added my normal look)

What would you think was age appropriate for someone in their mid 30s?

I am considering updating my look, but every time I try on something that looks "age appropriate" I feel like I am playing dress up..

If anyone has pictures of what they think of an adult super casual look, that would be great!

Everyone's suggestion looked great, but I think I might be hopeless. It would all feel like I am playing dress up -  this is what I generally dress like...

  • I don't wear jewelry, jeans with holes in them, high heels, or carry a purse.
I always wear collared shirts and flats.

those kinda tops are all ive found that fit the causual adult category, but dont make me feel fake. also, buy bootcut jeans...they're just as comfy but they have a feminie flair which might make your look more "grown up".

  • i know how you feel OP...i want to wear jeans & a tshirt everywhere i go, so i do. but i know i need to dress more "adult" but i always feel like im pretending to be someone im not. have you tried getting some simple tailored tshirts? all the chain stores carry them. they are usually still super comfy, but just have that cinched waist that makes them look kinda feminine. thats all ive been able to find to make me look more adult but not fake or uber trendy.

i'll see if i can find some pics.

  • I think you should just dress how you like.. But I do agree with dullscissors if your kids are wearing the same thing you are than its not for you ( I'm sure I will get down votes but oh well its my OP and Im not meaning anything mean by it ) They make really cute Misses clothes and some people really need to look into that and not stuff made for Teenagers and women in their 20s just sayin.. But if you would really like to look at some looks you should try Pinterest they always have a lot of cute outfits for all ages and everything from staying in to going to a ball lol.. but really try Pinterest lots of great ideas on there

  • I think the key to looking mature is your accessories. You can still have fun hip clothing just add a blazer, jewelry, purse or something to mature it up a bit. I don't ever plan on not being stylish 30 is still young and your still hot you don't have to bust out the grandma clothes... Heck even when I'm a grand,a I refuse to wear grandma clothes lol
