Baby girl name?

Francis Ermengarde

that is my last living grandmother and the only grandmother DH ever met.

He hates Francis... but her middle name was Joleen which I hate with Ermengarde...

Anyway. His G-ma was Ermengarde Madolia and mine was Francis Joleen...

How would you put them together...

  • I wouldn't! Give your baby a break, those are horrid names! How about coming up with a name that is unique and all hers? Just sayin.

  • No. It is important to us to use family names and we would like to honor the oldest members of our families.

  • I'd do variations: Francine Madeline/ Madeline Francine.

But, I do agree with anon. It's not necessary to go with family names. Neither one of my girls is named after someone.

  • I am so sorry but I would give my baby a different name entirely because I would not saddle any child of mine with those. Did THEY like their names?

My FIL and his brother had names they would never pass on. He told my SIL if you name your son after me I will disown you. and he was not kidding.
    Just saying

  • Instead of using those exact names why not use a variation of them? For instance, if DH and I ever have another child we want to name him/her after his grandmother who passed away last year. Her name was Judith. So if we had a boy obviously we cannot name him Judith. But we will name him Jude. So instead of Francis maybe Francesca? Or instead of Ermengarde maybe Erme? Idk. You can play around with it. Maybe find some variation of the names that both you and DH will like :)
