What time does your 5 y/o go to bed?

My 5 y/o goes to bed around 7:30pm. We get him up around 6:15 in the morning b/c we have to get him to school by 7:30 (both DH and I work early start jobs). Was just wondering what time other people's 5 y/o's went to bed (taking into consideration what I wrote above about when he gets up).

  • Between 7:30 and 8:30. He gets up normally at 7am on the weekdays and when ever on weekends. But bed time stays constant unless something comes up.

  • My 4 year old goes to bed at 8:00. That allows time for his dad to get home (he works until 7pm), and then help both boys into bed. If DH worked a 9-5 job, the kids would be in bed by 7:30 at the latest. But that extra half an hour is a must for us.

  • All my kids go to bed at 7pm on school nights. They are 8, 7, 6 and almost 3. They have had a 7pm bedtime since they were toddlers. Last year was the first time we let them stay up later on the weekends and during the summer.
On school days they are up at 6:40 to get ready for school and still they don't seem to get enough sleep.

  • He goes to bed at 9:30. He doesn't have a bedtime, that is just his natural time.

  • My 5 yo son goes to bed between 7:30 and 8. He used to go to bed between 7 and 7:30, but he was having a hard time falling asleep. I changed it and he is falling asleep right away.

  • My son goes to bed by 7:30.
If I got my son up as early as you do, I might even push it back a little.

  • my son 4 & my daughter 6 both go to bed at 8 unless we have something we have to do later. I have noticed especially with my son that if he goes to bed much later than 8:30 he does not want to get up in the morning. My step-son's mother puts them to bed at 6:30 or 7 & I think that is crazy. Why should a kid have to go to bed so early? They don't have that hard of time getting up. I think if someone puts their kid to bed at 7 or before it is just b/c they don't want to deal with them. There is no way they need that much sleep. That is just not fair to the kids.
