Does your DH/SO volunteer you for things without asking you first?

If so, does it make you want to murder him? (joking sorta kinda but not really...lol)

His DIL called and asked if I would watch their infant, 5 year old and 6 year old all weekend (from tomorrow at noon until sunday around 10pm). He said YES, without asking me. They are going to party all weekend with some friends.

What he forgot was that I have plans with my dd this weekend. We are doing a back to school spa day on Saturday, dinner out with our play group friends, soccer fundraiser, church program and other stuff that we planned a long time ago.

I'm grinning from ear to ear right now. BECAUSE, he is going to have his 3 grandkids all by himself this weekend. I'm not changing our plans. AND, he can cook for them too.

Does your DH ever do this to you? I hope this weekend will cure him from it.

  • Not really unless its something he knows I'd agree to anyways. Really, though, he doesn't get put into that position too often. I do though...people calling to see if DH can help move something with his truck, or just because he's strong, or help fix a car, etc. I probably do it to him more often than he likes LOL

  • Sometimes he'll volunteer me. DO I get mad about it? Not so far.

He'll volunteer me to watch a kid while he and the parent go help someone else move. Things like that where I could care less. I would have volunteered me if I had been there.

We both try to coordinate calendars so things like you describe don't happen.
