What if you don't have a period at all?

I am 45 yrs. old and gotten my tubes tied.
will be going to my gyno next week and I can't wait for my answer.
would you know???

  • If you are not having a period and you are not pregnant, you are not ovulating. Ovulation is what triggers the hormonal changes leading to your period. At 45 with tied tubes I would suspect menopause or perimenopause.

  • You can have a period even though you don't ovulate, it is called an anovulatory cycle and I have had them due to thyroid problems. If you miss a period at your age it could be menopause or the begining. Your doctor knows best.
