Cancer scare :/ need answers and support!

I have had a swollen lymphnode for about 4 months now. I had an ultrasound on my neck done a month ago. It showed a cluster of lymphnodes and a multinodular goiter. They wanted me to have a cr scan done so I did. And I pretty much got the same results--multinodular goiter an enlarged lymphnode. I've been on antibiotics and it hasn't went down. The ENT dr told me it could be 1. From having a cold or something and the log node just never went down. 2. Lymphoma. 3. Cancer or a tumor growing somewhere else. The endocrinologist told me he doesn't think the goiter is much to worry about but he took my blood work to see if I need to be put on medicine for it.

I don't have insurance and have already spent almost $1000 out of my pocket (well my husbands) and still haven't gotten an answer. The ENT wants me to have a biopsy on my lymphnode or have another ct scan done in 3 more months. I really can't afford a biopsy at the moment. I could get a loan but should I wait and just have another cr scan done or go ahead and get the biopsy done?

Or has anyone else been through anything like this and could help me and maybe tell me everything is okay?

  • Have an Endocronologist do the biopsy as soon as you can. Call one & ask for a payment plan. You may either have a cyst on your thyroid & it is no big deal or it may be thyroid cancer which is VERY curable as long as you do not wait.
