Emancipation in CA?

I have heard that if a minor female becomes pregnant she is automatically considered an adult in the eyes of the law. But what about the father, the minor boy that gets her pregnant? Is he still a minor?

  • The law is actually fishy on this. The mother isnt emancipated automatically. She is only emancipated when it comes to health care decisions for her child and herself because the state doesnt expect her mom or dad to go with her to the dr etc. As for official emancipation, thats done in court. Any minor child male or female can get emancipated if they file, show they can provide for themselves, have a place of their own etc.
