Did I hear this right?

When FEMA showed up in KY to help those in the icestorm, the meal packages that were handed out had peanut products from the contaminated food sources with salmonella. And the recipients were told " don't eat the cookies or the sandwiches"
I cannot hardly believe that is true.

  • Not quite - they have little packets of contaminated peanut butter - they look like ketchup packets. But yes, FEMA distributed recalled peanut butter - we're getting hourly warnings on the news here because of the people that evaced to the area.

  • All I know is they shouldn't be serving anything peanut related foods in schools anyway! There are so many kids allergic anyway, it's not safe.

  • Listen, if 75% of what is in the "packges" is okay and they say "don't eat the Peanutbutter" when they pass them out. Well that is what they have on hand. These jobs go to the lowest bidder and you don't get to be lowest bidder by having top notch operations. Same reason ppl shop at Wal*Mart. You get what you pay for and beggers can't be choosers. Would you rather that they throw out whatever good stuff might be in the 'packages" or just have no supply of rations on hand?

  • Yeah that's great. Hand out food to people who are DESPERATE for help- It's been what, a month? and then tell them not to eat it.

Can't we just fire them all? That would fund the amusement park, right? Get maybe half of the people and just hire some competent ones.
