Why is it?

Why do some people insist that the bible is interpereted for modern times and is symbollic but the constitution should always be taken literally?

  • I don't believe that either are interpreted correctly. Well the constitution is more modern and could be interpreted a little easier but when it comes to the bible, it was written when they didn't have the english words for translation and some of the words in translation are incorrect b/c there just isn't an english word for what they were trying to say. They spoke differently and there isn't anyone alive today that was actually there during the years it was being written to tell us what they actually meant when they said something. Its like slang that is used in modern day languages, its hard to translate b/c the word they use has a completely different meaning in another language.

  • oy. the constitution was written by the people for the people. the bible is a record of divine intervention. the divine can be interpreted in various ways, but human rights apply for all.
