Cover letters suck!

Why are cover letters soooo hard to write? Should be simple, one page, each paragraph serving a different purpose.

But how do you talk yourself up with sounding full of yourself at the same time? How do you make yourself seem like a good fit without saying it?

Why has it taken me a week to write one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Be brief. First paragraph, Say you'd like to apply for the job and where you found the ad. Second paragraph, why you are interested and how you would fit in.... Third, You look forward to discussing your qualifications more in person and you can be reached at (phone number), etc... Always end with Sincerely, (never thank you, they didn't do anything for you yet)
Thats it. Short, sweet.. You resume should be the selling factor.
