What to do with bob evans zesty hot sausage

Anyone have any ideas what to do with a roll of this stuff? I checked out the bob evans site and nothing really sounds good.

Anyone make a cheesy mexican skillet dish with it? Or have a good recipe? Thanks!

  • Fry it, add it to minute rice with a can of cream of mushroom soup and adequate liquid (maybe 1/2 cup milk & 1/2 cup water) throw in mushrooms and frozen veggies and bake until rice is soft.

  • I would just grill them and serve them on rolls with mustard, swiss, and sauerkraut.. with a side of home fries and a steamed veggie.

  • You can fry it in the skillet, blot off the extra grease, then put in in the bottom of a 8x8 baking dish. On top of this layer cheddar cheese, refried beans, salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes. Serve it with tortilla chips! Good luck!

  • Stromboli:
mix the sausage - we use 1 pk hot, 1 pk italian, but just hot will work - with a can of tomato paste and hot pepper juice to taste
take 4" long french rolls and cut a slit 3/4 way down from the top in the middle, lenghtwise not cutting through the ends, and pull some of the bread out (like making a little bread boat)
butter the rolls inside and out, stuff with the sausage mix, and put slices of mozarella and provolone on top
Bake at 350 until the cheese bubbles and browns a little at the edge
Go run 6 miles to work it off

    brown and crumble sausage
    cook 2 cups white rice
    1/2 onion chopped
    1/2 bell pepper chopped
    1 tbsp minced garlic
    a little crushed pepper flakes
    mix it all together
add a little tomato sauce for a variation, its pretty good stuff
