What song should I dance to with my grandfather for my wedding?

I'm trying to find a good song to dance with my grandfather for my wedding. I don't have a dad, so I'm going to dance with my grandfather. I want it to be special, but don't want the word daddy or dad in it. PLEASE HELP!

  • How about the simplest route? Grandpa Tell me bout the good ol days by the Judds. The song is a little ... she's sad and she wants her grandpa to reassure her. But I think it's very fitting. Had I been blessed to have one of my grandfathers still alive when I married I would have danced to this with them.

  • Young Patrick:
You're my best girl and nothing you do is wrong,
    I'm proud you belong to me;
And if a day is rough for me,
Having you there's enough for me.
And if someday another girl comes along,
It won't take her long to see,
That I'll still be found, just hanging around
    My best girl.
    Mame:
You're my best beau, you're handsome and brave and strong,
    There's nothing we two can't face;
If you're with me, whatever comes,
We'll see that trouble never comes.
And if someday another beau comes along
    Determined to take your place,
I hope he's resigned to falling behind,
    My best beau.
    Mame And young Patrick:
And if someday when everything turns out wrong,
You're through with the human race,
    Come running to me,
    Mame:
    For I'll always be
    Your best girl...
    Young Patrick:
    My best girl!

  • I would pick something that you both love or something that you can both relate to. I danced with my father to "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles. Pick something that means something to you.

  • Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days
    Sometimes it feels like
    This world's gone crazy
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
    Didn't seem so hazy
    (Chorus)
Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say?
Did families really bow their heads to pray?
Did daddies really never go away?
Oh, Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

    Grandpa, everything is changing fast
    We call it progress
    But I just don't know
And Grandpa, let's wander back into the past
    And paint me the picture
    Of long ago

    (Repeat Chorus)

  • Ask your grandfather what his all time favorite song or singer is and see if you can get it for your song. It will be a tribute to him in a special way.It doesn't have to be a grandpa song, it can be his song.
