How important is it to you that your childrens names "go together"?

Do you feel your childrens names have to have something in common or have to have a similar style or sound or do you think anything goes?

examples, some people have all j's for there kids or all t's (tommy, tori, tina, etc.) or all have floral names, Violet, Rose, Lily. Others are more subtle connections to each other. What is your opinion?

  • I never really even thought about it when I named mine- we just picked names we liked.
I think it's kinda weird-or overboard when someone has 7 kids and all the names start with the same letter!

  • I have a bit of naming OCD, both of my girls have very British first names and, middle names ending in "elle".

  • Mine go together in that they are all long (ish).
And we worked very hard on not repeating letters (but i don't win every debate)

  • All my children are named after someone...does that count?

  • My daughters name is Izabella, Sawyer (name of my son who passed away) and Holden. None of them really have anything in common except both my son's middle names start with e and end with t but it wasn't planned lol their middle names are everett and elliott.

  • None what so ever. They are two different children and I gave them names that differ.

  • Not at all.

  • I don't care if they go together or not.

Answer by kmath at 9:10 PM on Oct. 1, 2012

  • UGH! No thanks, my kids names need to be as independent and unique as they are. Ironically, Both my kids, and their dad, all have 5 letter first names. It wasn't planned that way, it's just the names we picked for the kids. Dad has a 4 letter middle name, son has a 5 letter middle name, and daughter has a 3 letter middle name.

We're not for matching anything on purpose.
