Throwing fits already...

My 5 month old son will want something such as to eat and even while I'm getting ready (sitting down, getting shirt up, unsnapping bra, ect.) apparently it's not fast enough and he will start throwing a fit. He arches his back and throws himself backwards and screams his little head off. He also does this when he gets a lot of attention and then all the sudden someone puts him down. Have you ever had this problem and how do you teach them that this kind of behavior is not ok?

  • Patients is a learned thing. We do not come out of the womb with it. I would do for him but do not rush. He will eventually learn that fit pitching gets him nowhere fast. Make the lil darlin wait a minute or two. If you start falling all over yourself for him everytime he throws a fit you will be a slave to a spoiled rotten bratt. Good luck.

  • Mine has been doing this for a while. We put her down and walk away until she calms herself, or Daddy gets the hair dryer out and uses cool air blowing in her face to calm her down. We have been using the hair dryer trick since she was about 2 mos old. It works like a dream for us. We actually had a temper tantrum that required it at dinner tonight.
