  • Your contractions get very intense and involve pretty much your whole middle body. They get stronger and closer together, though they can also be irregular.

You may have lost your mucus plug (little by little or all at once) and have a little bloody show prior to labor beginning. Sometimes you'll notice your bowels will get a little looser as labor approaches.

Your water may or may not break.

If you think you're in labor, call your doctor or go to the ER. If this is your first child, its not safe to try and gauge it for yourself.

  • I remember asking this question and people would always say "You'll just know." Which would make me angry because I kind of wanted to know what to look for. So.... In that last month of your pregnancy you'll get all sorts of pains and weird feelings and every time you'll stop and say "IS THIS IT!?!?!" You'll know it's for really when you feel the contractions growing more intense, closer together, and are lasting longer. Remember "Longer, Stronger, and Closer together." You won't be able to make them go away. Drink some water, take a shower and change positions. If you were sitting down, take a walk. If you were moving around, sit for a while or lay down. If the contractions don't stop then it's for real! Good luck!
