15 month old constantly coughing in his sleep.

Okay so Evan has just gotten over a head cold. And now he is coughing in his sleep mostly, and sometimes during the day, but very rarely in the day. He has no fever, hes playing as normal. He is cutting teeth, his top molars. His nose is also runny. I think it may be from teething, but even when he has coughed during teething it hasn't been this much. Also the house is a little stuffy and I also think that could be a reason, because his coughing lessens when i crack the window in his room. Any ideas what this could be?

  • If it's a dry cough you need to go to the dr. If it is productive, treat as you would any other chest cold.

  • He could have some irritation in his throat from post nasal drip. It'll just take a little more time to get over that. Make sure he's hydrated. You can try Vick's on the soles of his feet (it really does work!), and a humidifier would probably help too, to keep his nasal passages, etc, moist.
