Does playing a video game make you unsuitable for elected office?

Candidate slammed for World of Warcraft fandom

The republican party is running attack ads, insisting that playing WoW proves she is immature. I find that odd, since most gamers are Type-A personalities who can assess a situation in 30 seconds and make critical decisions on the fly - it's what the games train you to do. Not to mention, playing them means they actually have contact on a regular basis with normal people who make less than $500k/yr instead of letting their maid, personal assistant, and nanny deal with them.

No that's petty!

Now if he/she played the Sims, made them into politicians, then found creative ways to kill them, I would think they were either awesome or odd.

LOL! If so, when this generation is old enough to run for office, they won't be able to find anyone "suitable" - No it doesn't matter.

Hey as long as their hobby isn't banging the maid, the nanny or the personal assistant, then I don't care what they do w/ their spare time! lol :p

Only if their hobby was drugs. Otherwise I don't care what they do with their off time, as long as it doesn't affect their ability to do their job.

wow...thats low. DH loves that game and is a professional in his field. as long as a hobby is legal, who cares?!

LOL, Saw this link earlier on my World of Warcraft Moms Facebook Group. YES I am a WoW playing mom, and I give total props to this lady and think it is pretty low for her Republican opponents to bring her fun hobby into an election race. She probably knows more about working in a group and working towards a common goal BECAUSE of playing WoW!
