would you leave it or resolve it?

this weekend we threw a party
with a couple of family members
so we did invite a bro in law on hubby's brother's wife's side
if that makes sense
and he is completly deaf
and he's not good at putting sentences together either
so when he texts he goes something like "you me want to come?" so his sentences are broken up
he's that way

he shows me these messeges from his sis who hates me btw
its one of my inlaws
and she says to stop texting me cause she really just hates me
so he's showing me all these texts from her
and so i sign to him "why doesnt she like me?" "why is she mad at me?"
in doing so with my mouth because i dont know how to sign.

he rushes to my hubby to say that i said i hate his sis and storms out and goes home, he doesnt want to talk to me or anything but if i want to resolve it i probably will have to talk to his hateful sis.

  • I would write the deaf BIL a note explaining exactly what you have posted above. Tell him you are sorry for for the misunderstanding. In the future when dealing with the deaf..if you don't sign and they don't read lips exceptionally well..write it out. Dry erase boards are perfect for this.

  • I agree with the PP....take out the "middle man" and deal with the source!

  • I would definetly try to resolve this. There is no point in having this misunderstanding up in the air, right?? I don't think it would be hard to resolve either. I would try to communiate with him and let him know that you were just asking why she has a problem with you. If you don't resolve it, it could cause more problems and who needs that? LOL. Hope it works out for you!! 8-)

  • I would resolve it... Just tell her exactly what happen and just straight out ask her why she doesn't like you...maybe it will get resovled maybe it won't.

  • You'll probably want to send him a text message to explain. Unless you want him under the impression that you hate his sister...
