So would you count light red spotting and a period or not?

  • Could be implantation bleeding- very common.

  • My doc said to start counting when it is an "active bleed". Which I take as not just when you wipe or brown spotting but when it actually is getting on a pad or coming out.

  • According to most of the research I have seen you would count your first day of your cycle the day that you have a full blood flow by 12 noon. Spotting before hand would not be considered your first cycle day. Hope this helps. :)
