how do i make a lock stitch when sewing?

  • If you have a bobbin and thread through the top needle, you are making a lockstitch. Almost all sewing machines (not sregers, sergers do not use a lock stitch method) make a lock stitch. Lock stitch simply means there are two threads (top thread and bobbin) that "lock" together to form a strong holding stitch.
