Ex stereotyping male teacher

Today I am sick and I asked my ex if he can take the kids for a few hours just so I can rest of voice so I don't lose it since my job requires me to talk. Well anyways, I get a text from him saying "Jeremy kissed our kids." Which he does on the checks. He is my sons teacher at daycare. I replied, "So?"
Then asked if it was Ms Rhea (my DDs teacher) would you have cared.
He never responded to it but I know that's whats bothering him that the male teacher kissed our son on the check. I told him he had nothing to worry about.
I know these teachers more then he does, he sees these teachers maybe twice a month. He was unhappy when he found out there was male teachers at the daycare.

I see nothing wrong with happen, my DSs teacher is an awesome very sweet man (to bad he's gay...)
Why is it only the male teachers who are stereotyped as a pervert?

  • Male or female teacher, it isn't appropriate to kiss the student.

  • It's the old double standard. Your ex is probably old school & thinks his gayness will rub off on your son! :p

  • most men are REPORTED, women can be pervs they just arent as reported as much >>> Well, of course they can. But men molest children more than women, it's a fact. Nearly 96% of sexual assault is committed by men, you can't dispute statistics.  I'm not saying your children are in danger or that your ex is justified, I'm just saying that most sex assault and child molestation is done by males

  • What adnilm said. I would be a little uneasy with male teachers when my daughter was little.

  • I agree with the anon - regardless of sex, teachers shouldn't be kissing students even in the most harmless of ways. For me, that crosses the boundary of professionalism.

  • No teacher should be kissing the kids. A quick hug is ok, but not kissing, male or female.

  • Because most pedophiles are male?

  • Even though the kiss may be innocent there's not supposed to be anything physical between children and teachers. Unfortunately that also includes hugs which a child may desperately be needing to help heal a boo boo or missing mommy & daddy. This teacher really needs to rethink those innocent kisses because it could really get him in trouble.
