Nursing program has a 2yr wait list so I get to pick something different for now

Basically I'm choosing between getting my LPN or my EMT. Both fill the pre-requisites for the nursing program but LPN gets me an automatic spot on the list, while EMT is a much faster program that gets money faster.

So licensed practical nurse or emergency medical technician?

  • I don't know with a nursing degree you can write your own ticket. Can you get a RN? Are you saying EMT pays more than an LPN? LPN's get stuck with the hard work - I would go for EMT.
