Is Making gifts a cheap cop-out?

Im not on here a lot right now because a lot of my extra time is going into making christmas gifts for my family. I do the plastic canvas stuff and I love it, but i always feel like when i give the gifts, my family will think i'm a cheap-o! If you got a handmade gift for christmas from one of your family members (not a child, obviously) would you think they were cheap??

  • As an adult, I don't really care what people give me as gifts, as long as they aren't insulting (no, I can't think of an example.) I'm happy to be with friends and family, and receiving gifts is a second thought. If a lot of work goes into a craft gift, then I appreciate how much work went into it. I think as long as you're making something you think the person will like, it's OK. A lot of labor goes into making gifts.

  • Something made by hand and with thought and effort put into it always beats store bought goodies in my book.

  • I would value a homeade gift more than anything you could buy me. I can't wait to see the picture!
