What should I take to the BIG family Thanksgiving?

We are a family of 6 plus my mom & my aunt live with us. So actually a family of 8. Would it be rude for me just to offer to bring store bought desserts or drinks? Money isn't an issue, just not sure what to bring.

  • Appetizers.. something light. Maybe a veggie tray. Some wine wouldn't hurt either.

  • You could call and ask if there's something you could bring. I always ask my mom what she wants. I usually take a broccoli rice and cheese casserole and a homemade dessert (immediate family of 7, for thanksgiving there are approx 30 people at my mom's house).

  • Is that enough of a contribution? 8 people coming to eat.

  • If I had 8 people then I would probably contribute an appetizer, side and dessert. Veggie tray is a good idea. Fresh green beans is what my mil requests from me each year or you can do a green bean casserole. Nothing wrong with getting desserts from a bakery either.

  • You could bring me!!!

If space allows you could always dump your store bought drinks into a punch bowl with some fruit slices and have a nice sparkling drink!

  • I was thinking a pumpkin pie and a box of cookies from the grocery store or drinks. My mom said that's not enough.

  • Drinks always help. Deviled eggs, baked beans.
