True Crime book recommendations?

I love shows like 48 Hours, Dateline, Primetime, etc. I have never been much of a reader but find myself with more time and want to start reading so was wondering if there are any good true crime type books out there? Any reccomendations??

  • I am reading one right now but I can't remember the author's name. It's called Evil Beside Her.

  • Ann Rule has a lot of good True Crime books. Or there's Aphrodite Jones.

  • Helter Skelter was great, as is Imperfect Justice.

  • I second the Ann Rule books. I prefer the ones where it's one book about one case over the anthologies that summarize multiple cases .

  • I agree with NP, Ann Rule has a ton of great books but one case per book are so much better than anthologies!

  • I like Ann Rule's novels better too. I liked the one about Thomas Capano or Small Sacrifices the best.

Aphrodite Jones wrote the book about Brandon Teena from which Boys Don't Cry was adapted.
