Hard bowel movements. Help!

My 6th month old has been having really hard bowel movements. I can tell they are really hurting her. What can I do to soften them up?

  • feed her prunes (baby food) and give her apple juice mixed with water

  • my MIL tried kayo syrup in my ds' bottle.....just a little bit----seemed to help

  • try different kinds of fruit, prunes work wonders. She needs fiber, so check the fiber content in whatever you feed her.

  • Make sure that breastmilk or formula is still the major part of her diet. Solids are an afterthought, all the way to the first birthday.

  • try more liquied pedialite is great fell the sofe spot and if its indented a bit she is dehigeated ......
    even water will help
