  • If you don't have a doctor yet because you don't have your ins card, you can always call the nurses' hotline at the hospital to ask. Its a very simple question that they should easily be able to ask. I *think* it is one of those "safe" drugs, but DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!

  • You need to talk to your doctor. That is the safest route. And congrats, momma!

PLEASE, DON'T YELL AT US. INSIDE VOICES IN HERE, WE FRIGHTEN EASILY.

  • no. I am big on natural medicine, but there is a good reason to avoid melatonin when pregnant... I can't remember what. vitamin b6 helped me not only with nausea but sleep

  • No, youi can't because it can cause developmental disorders (never forget that it's a hormone ...):

"Melatonin supplementation should be avoided in women who are pregnant or attempting to become pregnant, based on possible hormonal effects. High levels of melatonin during pregnancy may increase the risk of developmental disorders. In animal studies, melatonin was detected in breast milk and therefore should be avoided during breastfeeding."

  • No, you cannot. The only sleep med I have ever read that is safe during pregnancy is Unisom. That is even a common drug prescribed for nausea (along with vitamin B6).
