What's the longest you ever went without sleep?

I "managed" 33 hours once. Fell asleep in the dentist chair late afternoon when she left me alone for a couple of minutes. At least I didn't drool all over myself with that little sucking thing hanging in my mouth.Still it was embarrassing.

  • I had horrible insomnia a few years back and I went 70 hours at one stretch. It was awful, I couldn't think, I couldn't move fast..I don't wish that on anyone

  • Around 5 days. I was 12 and had started hallucinating before I literally passed out for a few hours, then had to be awake for another 12 or so. I've had insomnia really bad for almost my entire life, and factoring in the bipolar mania fun, it's not unusual for me to be awake for 2-3 days at a time even now.

  • 3 days truly without sleep at all. Quite a few stretches of a week where sleep is a 10 minutes here, 5 minutes there problem.
