Because people will pay for it. There is a simple solution to save money, don't get cable! Really it isn't a necessity in any way shape or form

I have never had cable, but hear that people who do usually find savings when they have a bundle package.

I don't know. Initially, it was suppose to be for free (the commercials were suppose to pay for it), but somewhere along the line, people started getting greedy, so now not only are they getting paid for the commercials they run, but also for people who want to purchase cable. Personally, we've dropped our cable company and went with Netflix.

Cable was never meant to be free. You were to pay and there weren't any commercials. Along the way they added commercials and you still pay.

Our local cable company is owned by the same people who own the local newspaper. It's a racket! We do bundle, b/c we need a home phone & internet, so it just made sense. Could we live w/out it for the TV? Sure, but I think my husb & oldest son would have ESPN withdrawls! ;p
