Is it true that after you have one C-SECTION......

you ALWAYS have to have them with your future pregnancy's??? Or is it possible to have a vaginal delivery after a c-sect?

  • its ppossible but more safe to stick with csection if you do vaginal its called a VBAC

  • Its possible, the risks are only 2% higher than if you had a vaginal birth the first time...I say to for it if your doc thinks its a good idea

  • its not true.

    you can have a vbac but it depends on how your old scar healed, from the out- and especially the inside.

    those old scars can rip open when you put too much pressure on it. which can happen during labor.

    but usually doctors will check on that early enough before you give birth to figure out if your body is able to handle a normal birth.

    it also depends on how far apart the births are (meaning the newer the scar, the higher the chance of another c-section).

    my OB (in the hospital after c-section) told me to better not get pregnant for the next at least 12 months or if possible 3 yrs. just to give my body time to heal.

  • My sister had a c-section with her first child 21 years ago. She has since had 3 vaginal births. So I think it depends on how you've healed, what your doctor thinks, etc.

    If you want to do it, I say at least give it a try....
