  • Babies grow at different rates. Check with the doctor when your son has his next scheduled checkup, but I wouldn't worry. Some babies just start off with a bang. My cousin and I had babies less than a month apart. Hers gained like crazy; mine took months to hit the ten pound mark. They're both healthy preschoolers now.

  • I think it's fine. Ask your doctor if you are concerned, but I think he will be happy with the weight gain. I think they are supposed to double their weight by 3 months.

  • FYI, babies/children gain weight fast. Because they grow fast. If your doctor is not worried about the weight, you shouldn't.

  • Is he breast or formula fed? If breast, at the breast or from a bottle?

  • This is a question for the ped. But My son was 9lb7oz and he lost apound in the first couple days and then gained and I am thinking 3 in a monthe or so. Larger babies have a larger base to start with
