How Do I get the smoke smell out of a wooden bunkbed???

I recently got a bunkbed from a relative that was moving, I got it set up in my home and now my son's room reeks of cigarette smoke. I already washed the blankets and sheets but how do I get the smoke smell out of the wood ???

no my son does not smoke he is 3 and we(me and DH) don't smoke either

  • I would try murphy's old soap and wipe down all the wood parts really well. It soaks into the wood so it may help.

  • Are you sure it's in the wood and not the mattresses? I would try taking the mattresses outside and making sure that's not the problem. I've never heard of wood smelling like smoke.
