  • I've always loved real ones, but DH talked me into getting a fake when our DD was born. His father is allergic to real ones, and we thought they might visit over Christmas (they didn't). We used that tree for 5 years, but gave it away this spring.

I'd love to get another real one this year.

  • I love fake trees. So much less mess and easy to put up. If you do it right and get a good one they can be just as good as real trees.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm going to hell for this answer. It will certainly be a caps lock hell too. :)

  • I always liked real because of tradition, but they are dirty, expensive, and have to be disposed of. Fake look fine and aren't nearly as messy and don't need watered. I ended up not getting a tree at all. I have several big indoor plants, and I put lights on them.

  • Real, but we have nice hardwood floors, so easy to sweep them out the front door!
