How to defrost meat?

How long will it take to defrost a pound of ground beef?
How long does it take to defrost 5 pork chops?

How do you do it, I do not have a microwave, so how would I defrost meat, and how long will it take?

  • i take it our of the freezer in the morning & leave it in the sink. By the time i get home from work, it's about done.

  • Not too sure about the times, but what you do if you don't have a microwave is run cold water over it until it's defrosted.

  • You can also, take it out the night before, & leave it in the fridge, in 24 hours it should be defrosted.

  • You can defrost in cold water, or take the frozen meat out and put in the fridge over night. Check it in the morning, see how much it has thawed. Usually, by the time you make dinner, everything is thawed. If not, then defrost under cold water.

  • Over night in the fridge never seems to work for me. I eather just cook from frozen or with meat in zip lock bag, place under streem of cold water.

  • I once read that food should be defrosted in cold water. I tried it & it has worked best for me.
